Law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty in Massachusetts

Patrolman Robert A. Edmonds Age: 43 years old Tour: 17 years Metropolitan Police End of Watch: Wednesday, December 23, 1936
Patrolman Robert Edmonds succumbed to injuries sustained 20 days earlier when his patrol car collided with a tree on the Blue Hills Parkway in Milton.

He was taken to Milton Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Patrolman Edmonds was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the WWI and a recipient of the Croix de Guerre. He had served with the Metropolitan Police Department for 17 years and was survived by his wife, five daughters, mother, and sister. He is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Boston.
